Emeka Tunic - Men's Nigerian Ankara Tunic
The Emeka Tunic is a collarless, button front piece cut in a relaxed, tunic length silhouette that sits comfortably over the hip, with short sleeves that keep it easy for warm days. The button placket runs the full length of the front, giving it a clean, considered finish that reads as more tailored than a simple t shirt. Wear it loose over jeans for an effortless daily look, or let it stand on its own as the statement piece in a simpler outfit. It suits anyone who wants a piece with real cultural roots and a name that carries meaning. Available in M, L and XL.
Ibo Ankara and the Story Behind Emeka
The Emeka Tunic is made from Ibo Ankara, a wax print cotton carrying bold geometric motifs tied to Igbo heritage in Nigeria, printed here in deep blue with orange and black patterning. The name Emeka means “God has done well,” and the tunic is BINTA’s way of showing that African fabric is not one single story, adire, aso oke and Ankara each carry their own tradition, and this piece brings the Igbo thread of that story into the collection.
Care Guide
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle
- Do not bleach
- Tumble dry low or hang to dry
- Iron inside out on a medium setting
- Wash dark colourways separately for the first wash
Sizing & Fit
This tunic is cut relaxed rather than fitted, so true to size gives you the intended loose, comfortable drape shown here. If you prefer more room through the body, sizing up works well without changing the tunic length or button placket proportions.
