Two Nigerian Textiles, One Statement Set
The crop top is cut from Nigeria Dry Lace, a lightweight, open weave eyelet fabric produced in Nigeria, lined inside with light cotton so the body stays covered while the lace does its work on the surface. The pant is adire, hand dyed in Abeokuta using tie and fold resist techniques, so the indigo and white markings on your pant are unique to that piece alone. Together the two fabrics represent two different Nigerian textile traditions worn as one set, one built for texture and openness, the other for pattern and colour.
Care Guide
Dry Lace Crop Top
- Hand wash cold only, do not machine wash
- Do not bleach
- Lay flat to dry
- Iron on the lowest setting using a pressing cloth to protect the lace structure
Adire Bagi Pant
- Hand wash cold or gentle machine wash
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry, lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight
- Iron inside out on a low setting
- Expect a small release of colour in the first wash, this is normal for resist dye fabric
Sizing & Fit
The crop top is relaxed through the body, so true to size gives a comfortable, easy fit through the chest and shoulders. The Bagi pant has an elasticated waist with a drawstring, making it forgiving across a range of sizes, true to size gives the intended wide leg drape, and sizing up works well if you prefer a fuller silhouette through the leg.
